Valencia: Botanical Gardens seeking shade in the afternoon sun.

Valencia: Saturday night at the Mestalla. It was 24 degrees centigrade and the atmos was cracking. It will be a shame when this stadium becomes redundant at the end of the season - it is a great place to visit.

Valencia

Parkes, Beth, Granny B and myself have just enjoyed a fab break in Valencia. The weather, food, company and sights were lovely and Valencia is pretty much my fave city right now. Pictures will be posted.

Parkes and I (but mainly Parkes) have been trying to be a bit more adventurous with our evening meals. Tonight's offering was lemony cod with cumin potatoes and tomatoes. It was jolly lovely. Our next mission will be to cook the two rabbits in our freezer. These arrived courtesy of Kaiser Keith and his rabbit friend.

First Day At New Job

Today was my first day at Business Computer Solutions in Ramsgate. Everyone was very friendly, kind and helpful. It is lovely to have an eleven minute walk to work. Hopefully I will soon regain my techie powers and be closing calls at a rate of knots.

Yomp III

Thanks to Steve and Keith for a lovely yomp. The weather was once again kind to us and we enjoyed a couple of beers along the way (which is always very pleasant). I felt pretty good on Sunday but was a little stiff today. Hopefully we'll do it all again next year - Yomp IV.

Isle of Thanet Yomp 2009

Well we thought there might be five yompers this year. However it turns out that it will be the holy trinity again; Steve, Kaiser Keith and myself. I am sure that we won't run out of things to talk about but if we do here is a shortlist of possible topics:

(1) Do we go clockwise or anticlockwise?

(2) Skinny jeans

(3) Blisters

(4) Growing your own veg

(5) Kids

(6) Keith's festival experiences

(7) Dean's bad back

(8) Blisters

(9) Pubs

(10) Smelly seaweed

Wedding Fayre

Parkes and I sped down to the wedding fayre at the Pegwell Bay Hotel today. Nothing really inspired us however we did find a nice cake maker who has invited us around to her house to sample her moist spongy selection and chocolate fingers. We then went to the Stanley Gray for Sunday lunch and a chance to see what the catering will be like for our wedding (as the Stanley Gray and Pegwell Bay Hotel food is cooked by the same people). Fortunately the food was nice although the service wasn't great.

Meanwhile Beth was eating macaroni cheese at Grandma and Grandad's house. Many thanks to them for allowing us to have a lovely few child-free hours on Sunday afternoooon.

WANTED: JOB ASAP

I am starting to get tired of not having any cash. If anyone wants anything done or wants to offer me employment please let me know. From £10 to £1,000,000 I am your man, man.

The End Of Summer

Well I calculate that summer is now over and Autumn is now upon us. I don't mind so much because September and October can be lovely warm months without being too hot. No complaints about the Thanet summer this year - it has been beautiful. My Arabian tan is still wooing the ladies.
