August Bank Holiday

Well thank goodness for that! The August bank holiday is almost here. Time for relaxation, good company, booze and good food. Hope everybody enjoys themselves and those going to the Reading Festival rock hard! Those having barbeques should make sure that the chicken is cooked thoroughly before eating - failure to do this will ensure you have the "Curly Watts" for quite some time.

Bekie and myself will be driving to Isla de Canela on Saturday morning to see Steve K and Tan. From Nerja it is about a four-hour drive which will take us past Malaga, Sevilla and Huelva and upto within about 2 miles from the Portugese border. We have hired a car from Avis and will be using my GPS kit (very exciting) even though the directions are fairly straightforward. Steve has a villa on a golf course complex which has air-conditioning and Sky television so we will be able to keep track of the cricket, maybe play some golf and maybe even catch some football. We will be returning on Tuesday as I have to work in the evening. After a long August with only two nights off it will be a most welcome divertion.

The Premiership is now back with us. Spurs were top until last night. I am quite pleased with the draw at Blackburn - it might start lowering Spurs fans' expectations a notch or two. If we finish this year above our position last year it will show progress is being made.

Come To The Brown Side, Luke.

I watched the recently-released Star Wars file "Return of the Sith" about a month ago. Very good it was and it has made me want to see the original films again. However Darth Vader's outfit raises some issues for me. I assume he needs the flocked helmet to help him stay alive but how does he now eat and does he still go to the toilet? I now have visions of DV sitting on the toilet, making that heavy breathing sound that he makes and with his gown hitched up around his knees.

If anyone can answer these questions please leave a comment on this post or email me at captaindog@gmail.com.

DV - that's alot of gear to take off just for a dump! Quite an afeminate pose ducky! Posted by Picasa
