World Cup Final Football Frenzy
Wow. It took a long time coming but it has finally arrived. I'm very excited by the prospect of footy on TV for the next month and hopefully it will mean Big Brother doesn't get a look in. In years gone by Parkes and I would have watched the England games down the boozer but being responsible parents now we'll be watching them from the comfort of our sofa. But do not fear as for each England match we plan to have our own theme night to celebrate the food and culture of our opposing team.
And so, on Saturday night it is 'Barbie & Ken Night'! We'll both be talking with a slight drawl, be eating American food (whatever that is) and drinking Bud. Sounds a bit rubbish doesn't it! Where am I going to be able to get a deep-fried catfish from in Thanet? And Bud is possibly the worst lager in the world. Roll on Algeria.

Bannatyne's About
The Stringers popped into the cafe next to the boating lake on the west cliff on Saturday. All we were after was a cup of tea and a buttered bun but we also got Duncan Bannatyne into the bargain. Here are my Duncan Bannatyne notes;
1) Taller than he looks on the TV (mind you I do have a strange aspect ratio on my TV)
2) Browner than he looks on the TV (I also have problems with the colour too - the TV is quite old)
3) Seemed very kind
4) Didn't eat a buttered bun
DB was sniffing around the building used for the inaugural Planet Thanet Beer Festival back in 2006 (or was it 2007) and hopefully he will do something constructive with it.
