Mayday!!

The Mayday weekend is approaching. I am really hoping for decent weather so that I can justify wearing my sandals. Parkes and I are boozing on Friday night in central London then visiting my mum on Saturday for lunch. Hopefully The Real Beards will get time to continue writing new material as well.

Kent Beer Festival 2006

With my cheeks still rosy from the Planet Thanet Beer Festival I decided to search the internet for more beer festivals in Kent. The Kent Beer Festival is held in Canterbury every year - the dates are Thursday 20th July - Saturday 22nd July. The link can be found on the left-hand side of this window.

Live music and entertainment will be provided by artists such as the Blue Jean Boppers, Stringendo and the Wantsum Morris Men. But hopefully this won't spoil what promises to be a good weekend.

Thirsty Thanet

Planet Thanet 2006 was a success. Unfortunately it was too much of a success. The two day event concluded at 8pm on the first day due to both days beer being consumed by thirsty ale-drinking Thanetites. Our team got down to the venue at around 6pm and there were only a few barrels still flowing. However we managed to still sample some fine drinks. Ales of note were Cairngorm's Trade Winds, Crouch Vale's Brewers Gold, RCH's Steam Showers, Rebellion's IPA & Gadds' Strong No. 3. The venue was fairly small and their were admission queues throughout the day but the setting overlooking Westcliff Bay was pretty and condusive to a good tipple. The weather was kind to the event and as soon as the beer ran out a sea fog rolled inland seemingly from nowhere and told everyone it was time to leave. Looking forward to Planet Thanet 2007 but please make sure there is enough juice!

Easter Beers

Heello. Parkes and I are both greatly looking forward to the Easter weekend as it brings with it the inaugural Planet Thanet Beer Festival. It is being staged in Ramsgate on the seafront and promises to be a scene of alcoholic chaos and destruction. The link to festival can be found above. Pictures will be taken and published.

Other than the beer fest we will be mostly cycling on our new bikes and decorating.
