Snails Eating Runner Beans

We've spent a lovely weekend enjoying the sunshine. Today we visited Keith, Nicole, Georgia and Jed at there new beach hut in Viking Bay, Broadstairs. It was grand. The surf was rolling and seagulls were crowing.

Meanwhile, in our back garden, snails have eaten Parkes' runner bean plants. We haven't found the culprits yet but when we do there will be trouble.

A muggy and overcast day in between Broadstairs and Ramsgate.

Open Letter To The BNP

Dear Lowlife,

Please do not put any more of your crap through our letterbox. I would like our daughter to grow up in a country that embraces other cultures and countries. I realise that immigration needs to regulated to ensure the existing residents of our country (be they of African, Asian, European, American descent or even "English") have access to the resources and jobs they need.

Now bugger off.

The weather this weekend has been lovely. The beach in Ramsgate has been busy and the town has benefited from a sizable influx of Bank Holiday punters. Beth has been as good as gold.

Charles and Anastasia visited our place today and we saw Dimitry for the first time - what a lovely lad. It was smashing to see them all. Pics will be posted when they become available.

Friday afternoon relaxing in Herne Bay. After eating a delicious roast
chicken lunch cooked by Albert & Carmel we visited the beach at
Hampton. The weather was warm and breezy. My climate-controlled
underpants remained cool and still.

Beth was sleeping like a baby. Daddy was pushing the pram and enjoying the sunshine. Broadstairs looked quite charming in the afternoon sunshine.

Isle of Thanet Yomp 2009

This years Yomp will take place on June 20th. There will be four participants; Kaiser Keith, Aussie Steve, Deano and myself. We should try to do this famous event justice this year and make a proper film. If we do it'll be posted here.

Something special for the laydeez. I went through my swimwear drawer today to chuck away anything that is too small. Looks like this one fits just right.

I have never seen a baby mollusc before. This is the smallest snail I
have ever seen. I kindly popped the little fella on a leaf but he
promptly fell off.

Job Centre

Went down to the job centre today. I wore trainers, jeans and a baseball cap and seemed to fit in well. I spoke to a very nice lady who noted down the efforts I have made over the past week to find work. On my way out of the building I saw a chauffeur-driven Bentley pull up. Out stepped a twenty-something who made his way into the job centre. The Bentley drove off swiftly. What a great way to sign on.

Beth enjoyed the wet weather today in her new wellies.

Bombay Mix

We have had a lovely weekend in Rammers. We enjoyed dinner and booze with Keith and Nic on Saturday night. On Sunday we did some shopping and took Beth to the beach. We also discovered that our daughter is partial to spicy Bombay Mix - can't wait to see what her nappies are like on Monday.

Tomorrow we are off to St Thomas' Hospital to have another ultrasound on Beth's kidney. Hopefully things will have improved and she can come off the medication she has been on since birth.

Real Ale

Parkes and I are out tomorrow night with Kaiser Keith and Nicole - thanks to Carmel babysitting. It will be lovely to enjoy a couple of beers and maybe a ruby murray. Hopefully The Monty will have Eddie's Dr Friendly's Special Uncle for us to devour. Can't wait.
Comillas: Estate agent Vicente Poo - never leaves his clients in the shit.

San Vicente de la Barquera: Beth was really not at the races on the day we visited San Vicente. However the place was very nice but quite touristy.

Santillana del Mar: We stayed at Robert and Beckie's lovely house in a self-contained 2 bed apartment overlooking the mountains and sea in northern Spain. Our hosts couldn't have been more helpful and friendly and Cantabria is a lovely part of Spain. Highly recommended!

A picture book with a difference

Whilst waiting in a hospital family waiting room recently (one of many I hasten to add) I came across this book. It really did make me chuckle and I thought of Strings immediately, as he regularly visits the moon.

Santillana del Mar: The view from our accomodation. Very peaceful.

Santander: Labour Day. The weather was set fair and the unions were
out in force. We had to take Beth to hospital as there were no
doctors' practices open. She has now got conjuctivitus and an
infection. Poor little lady. She's had more drugs than Shaun Ryder.
