Springtime Is Here!

Yesterday was beautiful in Sandwich. It was sort of warm and bright and the light lasted until well past 7pm - I was outside at the time pumping Parkes' tyres and oiling her gears at the time.

This weekend Parkes and I are visiting Stamford in Lincolnshire and hanging out with my dad and Liz. I last visited Stamford back in the early nineties and it rained incessantly - so much so that the town was renamed Puddleton.

Herbal Teas

Since I started my new job I have stopped drinking coffee at work and started drinking herbal teas. I was slowly getting used to them until I tried one from Tesco containing nettle, hibiscus and dandelion. It stated on the packaging that it is supposed to be purifying and cleansing but it made me feel a little queer. It also made my urine smell of seaweed. I will persevere with it this week but it could be the end of Strings as we know him.
Not long to go now! A week Friday and all our dreams will come to pass. Also Parkes is going to be doing some work there on the Friday so it will be extra special.

If you love Synchro come to Thanet.

The Power of the Paranormal

I had a funny old night on Saturday night. I was quietly drinking by myself in The Montifiore Arms and the pub was quiet with only about eight people present at the time. I was sitting on a bar stool at the bar drinking my second pint of stout and texting jokes on my mobile when I felt someone physically brush past my back. I turned around and nobody was there. I resumed texting jokes when suddenly there was an enormous crash! A large brass plate which is usually placed on top of one of the sash windows was lying next to me on the floor. I asked Andy the landlord whether this had happened before and he replied "Never". It was very strange indeed and sent a shiver down my spine. The people in the pub got chatting about the supernatural and I subsequently discovered that the pub was also haunted by a mysterious hedgehog.

Latest picture from the womb! This was taken by a nice lady at the week 20 scan in Margate. Pretty cramped conditions in Parkes' belly.
What a beautiful stout. Like nectar from an orchid!

What It's Like To Be Jon Stringer

Being Jon Stringer is a beautiful thing. Keith undertook some research on the Web and discovered http://www.jonstringer.com . This man is incredible and I am very proud that he is part of the Stringer familly. He could be a long-lost uncle you know.

My goodness - look at the size of that hole! Lounge and dining room become one thanks to the efforts of Albert and Scott. Lovers of dust should pop around for a visit.
Strings having a go at bashing the wall. This is a very dangerous activity that should only be attempted by professionals.

New Job

The new job is going very well. I started on Thursday and it seems to be very well organised and dare I say it - enjoyable. This weekend Albert Parker is knocking down our lounge wall and it will be a dusty-old time.

Seeing as I managed to get myself a job yesterday I crept down to the pub last night to sample the miracle brew that is Dark Star brewed in Brighton. Smashing 5.0% dark ale with nice hoppy arrangement.

Hey man, have you been working out?! Keith knocking 'em bandy with his right bicep.
Top Dog brewed by the Burton Bridge Brewery. Wonderful 5.0% stouty-ale with a jab like Lennox Lewis.
