Yomp

The Yomp was a lovely affair. The weather was kind, not too hot. We started at 10:10 and finished about 18:30 (I think) - not bad considering there were stops at The Bell and The Belle Vue. My legs still function correctly so no damage done. Margate beach was rocking to Asian and Carribean beats - first time I have seen the beach this busy. Also there seemed to be less grafitti along the sea wall between Margate and Birchington. All good.

This weekend Parkes will be having a helicopter lesson so if you see a chopper overhead give it a wave.

Rabbit look is the order of today. Beth had her face painted at the fair on the Westcliff and then refused to come down the bouncy castle slide, so Mum had to get up there and rescue her - not a good move after a night out seeing Madness at Quex Park, who were brill by the way.

Beth's birthday on the beach at Broadstairs. There's nothing quite like a party tea. Well done to Parkes for organizing it all and thanks to the Silks for the beach hut and Jo for the sumptuous cake.

Isle of Thanet Yomp 2010

It's Yomp time again and it'll be happening this Sunday after being hastly rearranged. There will be possibly five of us this year; Stevie Ray, Dean, Steve, KK and myself. It normally takes us about 8 hours to get around the island - possibly longer depending on the number of pub stops along the way. Coversations that may be broached along the way could include;

1) Burqas.

2) Dean's impending fatherhood.

3) World cup woe.

4) L.A.

5) Bad smells.

6) Thanet's graffiti and nob drawings.

Don't trifle with me, Custard!! I haven't had trifle since my childhood days so it was a great pleasure to demolish this pudding last Sunday. Toni has used plenty of sherry and it went down like a snowboarding bear on a black run. More please!

Spent a very nice evening in the Monty with Kaiser Keith. We were joined by four archaeologists working on excavations at the site of the Cliffsend bypass. Nice people. Their prize discovery thus far was a finely polished dog nob. Our ancestors were a strange breed.
