Weekend

Cafe Nero on Sunday afternoon for a caffeine and sugar fix.
Parkes and Beth in Cafe Nero enjoying a coffee and cookie.
Sunday afternoon walk along the harbour. It was a lovely stroll despite feeling a little jaded from the night before. It is now getting dark at 5pm. Wooohoooo.
Saturday lunchtime at the Stringers. Pizza anyone?

Artist at work

Beth and Grandad busy painting a masterpiece and the furniture.

Spanish Dreams

It has been a long, hard couples of months of work and I am needing a break. Fortunately there is one just around the corner as we will be visiting Nerja again in February, almost five whole years since we lived there. I am really looking forward to seeing the place again and seeing how (if at all) it has changed. Parkes and I have achieved much since we returned home in 2005 - infact, everything we set out to achieve; buy a house and have a child. I wonder what feelings we'll have when we see that rolling surf and order a caña in the bar. Oh well. Whilst the days tick down I will have to content myself with old pictures.

January / Wedding

Crikey! Where did that month go?!! This month has been one of loooong working days and plenty of weekend work. Both Parkes and Beth have been neglected but I have tried to make it up to them where and when possible. The wedding preparations are coming on slowly but surely. We went to see Valerie at Curiously Cakes on Saturday to discuss our wedding cake options. We tasted quite a few of these options too and left feeling decidedly full and very impressed. Parkes will be going to London on Saturday to meet Justine and hopefully manage to find a dress that will worn at the wedding. Once this is done everything else will fall into place (hopefully). The wedding ceremony invitations have been sent out and we now have to get the evening ones done. Not sure what I will be wearing to the wedding yet - might wear a loincloth and boots.

My Big Carrot

It is 8.5 inches long and 2 inches wide at its widest point. Say 'Hello' to my monster carrot. The picture doesn't really do it justice. It is an organic carrot from Tesco and is very sweet and flavoursome. The problem I am facing is how to eat it without people thinking bad things.

Fat Boy

This weekend past my calorie intake went off the scale. Cheesy pasties, fish & chips and lamb curry were all in the mix and I went to work this morning feeling rather bloated and uncomfortable. I had my first take-out from Eddie Gilbert's fish restaurant - my large haddock was absolutely smashing. However, Parkes and I both agree that the food isn't that hot when it gets home. Those takeaway boxes are a nice touch but don't keep the contents warm for long. I will take a copy of the Thanet Adscene down there with me next time.

Avatar Review

Parkes, Kaiser Keith and I went to see Avatar at the VUE cinema in Westwood on Saturday night. What a fab film!! Pure escapism! The effects are amazing and although the plot is simple and predictable it works! It lasts a bum-numbing 160 minutes and I really did need a wizzle at the end due to half a gallon of Coke Zero. I will never be disrespectful to blue people ever again.

2010: A Duds Oddesey

Well, I have owned my climate-control underpants for eighteen months
and, quite fankly, they are almost see-through. Whilst this might be
nice for the ladies the climate-control element no longer works and my
spuds are getting sweaty. Fortunately kind folk have bought me
replacements over the Christmas period so everything has ended happily.

Happy New Zzzzzzzz

Happy New Year. Parkes and I went to bed early last night and it was
probably just as well as Beth was up from 2am onwards. We feel like
crap and I am sure Beth does too. Oh well, never mind! We should have
just stayed up.
