Mr & Mr Smith

It is going to be a busy old weekend. Tonight Parkes, Steve K, Kirsty, Keith and myself will be meeting in Folkestone to see Dirty Pretty Things play at the Leas Cliff Hall. I am thoroughly looking forward to it even though I am still feeling a little tender from last nights excess.

On Sunday Keith and myself are off to Brighton for the night to enjoy the rocking delights of Tenacious D with our mate Christian. We are staying in a hotel with "crisp white sheets", free WiFi and a range of over one hundred beers from around the world in the bar. How tremendously exciting!

The only way 100 beers could feature in a description of the hotel is if the barman had started pouring then last Monday...

Fucking good gig though - the "Tommy medley" as an encore was great.

Strings and Keith were eventually a bit lightweight after the post-gig beers though... both found it appropriate the venture forth to the adjacent kebabery...

Still, they have Monday off, so it's entirely appropriate - some of us will be on a train to London at 7:20... which is about 5 hours and 40 minutes from now...

I should probably do a mention for Buxton Opera House too - I hadn't realised it was feature here.

The Opera House is an amazing venue - it's the only place I've gigged that has a stream running through the orchestra pit, and becasue of conservation issues the management can't have it diverted. During the "rainy" seasons, they have to have the duckboards replaced every 6 weeks or so...

I was last there touring a show named "Chicago" - which you may have heard of. My g/f at the time came to see the show there with her mother... we subsequently had "words" about my being away from her for 3 months in the company of a troup of scantily-clad women... not long after the tour ended, she made me take a job with an Investment Bank in the City of London... which is where I met a certain Captain Dog... swings & roundabouts...

I suppose it's only approapriate to point out that for all his comment about free hotel WiFi (which I determined is present - 12 access point can be reached from their room), the idle bastard hasn't posted a single entry all evening...

Oh, and the pictures he's said he's going to post (yeah, right) are of someone else using a broken aspect ratio...

    Really.
